Concept, Performance, and Contemporary Photography
This course incorporates the still and moving image to document concept-driven work in performance, sculpture, and staged scenes. An emphasis will is placed on concepts generated from in-class lectures on photographic/artistic genres, and artists’ work. Students will partake in theoretical readings, and write/speak about their ideas before, and after execution. One of the main goals of this course is to create a well-rounded studio artist, capable of developing a body of work around a selected theme. This class ran in the Spring of 2011 at the University of South Carolina. An archived blog can be found at arts564.wordpress.com
